Notice of Race for Overall Series
1 Rules
      Racing will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the RYA, this Notice of Race, the IRC rules, the Sailing Instructions issued by the Organising Authority for each race. This notice of race can not be amended by the organising authority sailing instructions.
2 Organising Authority
      The Organising Authority for each race is as specified in the Notice of Race for the series specified in 3.1 below.
3 Event
3.1 The event will take place as follows:
      SDCRA Weekends Away
      SDCRA Offshore Week
      SDCRA Coastal Series
      SDCRA Torbay Series
4 Eligibility
4.1 The Owner/Skipper shall be a Member of the SDCRA as defined in the SDCRA constitution.
4.2 Boats shall be entered by completing registration with the Organising Authority for each race of each series as specified by the NOR for that series.
5 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
5.1 Competitors participate in the race entirely at their own risk. See RRS Rule 4.
5.2 A boat is entirely responsible for her own safety, whether afloat or ashore, and nothing, whether in this Notice of race or in the Sailing Instructions or anywhere else, reduces this responsibility.
5.3 It is for the boat to decide whether she is fit to sail in the conditions in which she will find herself. By launching or going to sea, the boat confirms that she is fit for those conditions and her crew is competent to sail and compete in them.
5.4 The boat is required to hold adequate insurance and in particular to hold insurance against third party claims in at least the amount stated in clause 15 below for the duration of the race.
5.5 Nothing done by the organisers can reduce the responsibility of the boat nor will it make the organisers responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may have occurred, as a result of the boat taking part in the racing.
      The organisers encompass everyone helping to run the race and the event, and include SDCRA, the organising authority, the race committee, the race officer, patrol boats and Beachmasters.
5.6 In the event that assistance is rendered to any competitor, no liability for any loss, damage or injury is accepted by SDCRA, the Organising Authority, the Race Committee or the crew of any rescue craft.
6 INSURANCE
      Each boat is required to hold adequate insurance including third-party cover of not less than £2,000,000 and it is the owner or owner's representative's sole and inescapable responsibility to ensure that the insurance is in place and is adequate.
      No responsibility will be accepted by SDCRA, the Organising Authority, or any other party involved in the organisation of the Race.
7 Scoring System
      The IRC event will be scored by adding together the scores for each of the Series (using the IRC handicap) that constitute the event.
      The Personal Progressive Handicapping event will be scored by adding together the scores for each of the Series (using the Personal Progressive Handicapping) that constitute the event.
